Like all great business ideas, Burly Fellow was a concept formed at the back of a Melbourne pub by a few mates. They saw an opportunity to create beard care products and male grooming kits, which kept the quality of the ingredients as the main focus. They sought to keep their brand honest, and let the sweet tones and comfort of their men’s grooming and beard trimming products do all of the talking.

Right from the very start, the lads have never lost scope of their desire to offer men of all types completely natural, feel good men’s styling products. Jojoba oil, argan oil, grape-seed oil, and sweet almond aren’t just fancy names, they are comfort and sweet scents in a package

Since Burly Fellow’s inception, herbs and spices have been added to the arsenal, carefully selected to enhance the modern day men’s grooming kit. Fir Needle, patchouli, Virginian cedarwood, black pepper, peppermint and vanilla, will all have you feeling great and smelling even better. Coming in a wide variety of bottles, boxes, tins, and tubes, they’ll be perfect for the bearded amongst us, or even as groomsmen gifts to the most rugged of your friends.

However, the Burly Fellow story is not just about creating the finest grooming products available. The men behind Hiatus Apothecary have struggled with their own mental health demons along the way, during an era where perhaps the spotlight wasn’t so directed on depression as it is now. They have teamed up with the lovely guys and girls from beyondblue, donating profit share to the group to keep up their brilliant work in bringing out this still largely taboo subject.

From the humble beginnings over a bar table, you can now find Hiatus Apothecary’s products all along Australia’s east coast. You can even find Burly Fellow’s beard maintenance kits across the ditch.
